IT Budgeting and Cost Management - Christian Burger

The economy is putting pressure on companies everywhere to consider carefully their spending patterns. There is no way management can return to the lavish spending of 2007 and most of 2008. The question now seems to be where to cut and often, IT is an easy target. IT is commonly a poorly understood and poorly leveraged department where seemingly thousands of dollars are expensed with little or no understanding of the value provided. In addition, regrettably, sometimes the IT department is least able to communicate their own value.
